COURSE OVERVIEW

Horizons Math 3

COURSE NOTES

Advanced math program; colorful and uncrowded; spiral approach.  Volume numbers do not correspond to grade levels.  The worktext format eliminates transcribing errors.  It contains 160 lessons plus regular review tests and final tests—too many lessons to complete in a year.  Progress from one volume to the next (until you complete the series, then the student moves nicely into pre-algebra).  If the student needs to be self-teaching—meaning you don’t want to TEACH math to him—move him down a level.
 
35 - 50 minutes daily, with a break during the lesson.  Let the student complete as much of the lesson as he can independently; teach the rest from the teacher’s manual.
