Classical, Flexible, and Personalized
The following pages list our core recommendations for each grade. You will not be buying every book or only the books listed. Students have a wide variety of abilities and aptitudes; schooling--especially homeschooling--needs to be adapted to different children in different ways. Your advisor will work with you to (a) match each child’s strengths and weaknesses to specific materials; (b) combine your students in texts and subjects; (c) choose a religion, history and science focus for the family for the year; and (d) weave materials you may already have or would prefer to use into your family’s course plan.
Books and materials are purchased by the family from various sources; provider names and addresses, order codes, and prices are included in the program packet. Costs for materials per child can range from $250.00 to $600.00, depending on the grade levels of your children and resources already available to you. Many of the materials are used for two or more years and most are non-consumable.

The semester study guides for high school students can be ordered from the printer after the evaluation and planning appointment with your academic advisor. Families Enrolling with St. Thomas Aquinas Academy
Your academic advisor will help select the books best suited for your student's skill level through the assessment and planning process. You may be advised to use books other than those on the standard list recommended for your student's grade level.
The following pages list the books associated with St. Thomas Aquinas Academy's courses. The courses are grouped by subject and arranged in alphabetical order.
We strongly advise families wait to order books until after the Course of Study planning appointment to be sure to purchase the appropriate levels — this is especially important since St. Thomas Aquinas Academy is not a one-size-fits-all program. Your advisor will help tailor the STAA program to meet your family's specific academic needs, not just assign a grade level and ISBN numbers to match. It will be worth the wait!

My advisor helps me to understand what needs to be done and how to make it really fun for the kids. What I really like are the tips she gives me for dealing with the little ones while trying to school the older ones.

The assessment testing was quick and easy to do, so I didn't expect much valuable feedback. Boy was I wrong!!! It was like my advisor had met my kids and spent hours/days with them.

Our family so enjoyed our wonderful relationship with STAA as our [son] worked his way through high school. It was a wonderful and outstanding experience for him and we continue to suggest your program to all those who are looking for an excellent homeschool experience.

Since I am writing, I will also sing more praises of the Greek Studies plan. [My daughter] moaned over the timed-essay and then did very well. So easy to implement with the choose one reflection topic from each subject and then get ready, get set, go! Apparently the school also gave suggestions for the process essay in "Format Writing." Thank you! For a mom of many this is real time saver.
